Profile
Grant is the Crown Solicitor for Wellington. His Warrant covers the greater Wellington region, extending north to Otaki on the Kapiti Coast and Masterton in the Wairarapa.

Grant undertakes work in the criminal prosecution and civil litigation areas. He has led prosecution teams in many major criminal cases in the High Court, and many major regulatory prosecutions in the District Court. Grant has also significant experience in civil litigation in the High Court.

Grant is a member of the Serious Fraud Office Panel of Prosecutors. He is a faculty member of the New Zealand Law Society Litigation Skills programme.

Grant is the author of the title “Criminal Procedure” in Butterworths The Laws of New Zealand and a member of the editorial board of the New Zealand Loose Leaf Edition “Cross on Evidence”.

As an experienced senior Crown prosecutor Kate undertakes a wide variety of criminal and departmental prosecutions. Kate prosecutes primarily for the Crown and various government organisations.

Kate’s numerous Court appearances include appearances in the District Court, the High Court and the Court of Appeal. She has also appeared before specialist tribunals and disciplinary boards.

Kate's extensive prosecution experience is passed on through training sessions she regularly runs for clients.

Kate is a faculty member of the New Zealand Law Society Litigation Skills programme.

Prior to joining Luke Cunningham & Clere in 1994 Kate worked as a Solicitor for a Government department.

Profile
Tom undertakes criminal prosecution, regulatory enforcement and professional disciplinary work. He acts predominantly for the Crown, public sector entities and local government bodies.

As a Senior Crown Prosecutor Tom has been lead counsel in numerous cases in the District and High Courts. Tom has broad experience in disciplinary work. He advises and prosecutes for a trade body. He has appeared in the Police Disciplinary Tribunal. Tom is the only civilian appointee to the Armed Forces Discipline Committee and is also a senior member of the Armed Forces Defence Counsel Panel.

Tom is a member of the Law Society’s Wellington Courts and Tribunals Committee and Standards Committee. He is a faculty member of the New Zealand Law Society Litigation Skills programme.

Tom is co-author of A Guide to the Employment Relations Act and the evidence section of Laws of New Zealand.

Prior to joining Luke Cunningham & Clere Tom worked in the litigation department of a large New Zealand law firm, in prosecution in London and as a Crown Prosecutor in the South Island.

Profile
Dale's areas of expertise include criminal law, regulatory enforcement, public law, medico-legal and serious fraud litigation. He has extensive experience in health and professional negligence litigation. Dale advises a number of Crown entities, regulatory bodies and private clients.

Dale regularly appears in District Court, the High Court and the Court of Appeal. He has also been involved in a number of Bill of Rights and public law cases at all levels including the Supreme Court.

Dale is a member of the Serious Fraud Office Panel of Prosecutors. He is also a faculty member of the New Zealand Law Society Litigation Skills programme.

Dale has presented on Bill of Rights issues at two New Zealand Law Society seminars and, in August 2011 will co-present the Society’s seminar on the Search and Surveillance Act.

Prior to joining Luke Cunningham & Clere Dale was a criminal defence lawyer and civil litigator in New Zealand and worked in civil litigation in London.
