Librarian | Kaitiaki Pukapuka
We are one of New Zealand’s largest and most experienced specialist litigation and public law firms. We are looking for a proactive, organised Librarian - Kaitiaki Pukapuka to join our team based in our Wellington office.
Mō te tūnga | About the role
We are looking for a highly organised and motivated librarian to take sole-charge of our small law library. The position is 12 hours per week with flexibility around how these hours are worked.
This role is responsible for:
· Managing our online databases including negotiating contracts with vendors
· Coordinating interloans
· Providing research and reference support
· Providing a current awareness service
· Developing and presenting training
· Managing the library budget
As sole-charge this role requires a high level of self-motivation and the ability to work autonomously, as well as the ability to be self-reliant, responsible and accountable for all aspects of the role without supervision. The ideal candidate will be able to effectively juggle competing tasks and demands.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
Previous library experience is a prerequisite and experience working in a law library or previous experience working with legal information is an advantage. In addition to information professional skills, excellent relationship management, communication, and time management skills are essential. Candidates should share our public service ethos.
