Our role
As the Office of the Crown Solicitor, our role is to conduct criminal prosecutions on behalf of the Crown. This responsibility has been a core part of our firm's work for many years and reflects our commitment to serving the community, supporting the administration of justice, and upholding the rule of law.
Supporting victims
We recognise that being involved in the criminal justice process can be difficult and, at times, confusing. Victims have important rights and are entitled to receive information and support throughout the court process.
At the same time, prosecutors must follow specific legal and professional obligations. These rules generally prevent us from communicating directly with victims and witnesses about a case. This helps ensure the fairness and integrity of the judicial process for everyone involved.
How to contact the Prosecutor
If you have a question or would like information about your case, please contact:
The Police officer in charge of the case; or
Your Court Victim Advisor.
They will liaise with the prosecutor on your behalf and ensure any questions or concerns are passed on to the appropriate person.
