Joanna advises and acts on a range of public and regulatory matters. She has experience in litigation involving judicial review, Te Tiriti o Waitangi/the Treaty of Waitangi, resource management and serious criminal offending. She also has experience in the regulation of regimes concerning asset freezing and other financial prohibitions. Joanna has appeared in the District and High Courts, Court of Appeal, Waitangi Tribunal and a hearing of a Commission of Inquiry.
Prior to joining the firm in 2025, Joanna was an Associate at a specialised Māori law firm, Counsel Assist for the Royal Commission of Inquiry into Abuse in Care, and a Legal Advisor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
