Matt is a criminal prosecutor, regularly appearing in the District Court and the High Court on Crown and regulatory agency prosecutions, and has appeared in the Court of Appeal. He acted on the prosecution team in lengthy murder trials in the High Court in 2024 and 2025.

Matt provides clients with advice and representation on regulatory and professional disciplinary matters. He has experience from being seconded with the Medical Council of New Zealand, WorkSafe, and the Corrections Inspectorate. He has assisted with drafting submissions on law reform on behalf of the firm.

Prior to joining Luke Cunningham Clere in 2022, he worked as a Judge’s Clerk in the Wellington High Court.
